A few days ago we received the official announcement of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, the direct sequel to Fallen Order that will continue the story of one of the last Jedi, Cal, after 5 years; a story that began with its first installment in 2019, but before its launch its possible sequel was already being considered.
After receiving its first cinematic trailer, we learned new details about its development, and it turns out that it started before Fallen Order was released.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has been in development for at least 4 years
Game Director Stig Asmussen made several statements about the game, stating that won’t be released until 2023
We started working on it in earnest before Fallen Order even ended, gathering ideas for what a sequel might look like. We cut a lot of things from Jedi: Fallen Order that we knew we wanted to put in a sequel. We talked about more battle stances, story ideas, the evolution of Cal and crew, the direction of game worlds and levels, and how to develop them for make it even more dynamic than in the past.
