The communication around Overwatch 2 just got into high gear. After a surprise appearance during the Xbox Bethesda conference, the developers have announced the sequelover watch felt that this is not enough and that it is necessary to hit hard this week after the conference. Just yesterday we had new items about the second phase of the beta which begins on June 28th. In the meantime, the teams have gathered for a fairly lengthy forty-plus-minute presentation, which can be found below.
Between game design images, gameplay clips and other cutscenes, The developers took turns talking about the qualities of Overwatch 2 and what will make this game a sequel to its older brother. On this occasion, therefore, the economic model of the title and the additions that will expand the game in the months following its launch were discussed. In addition, the teams remind us: Overwatch 2 will be released free-to-play on October 4th. Here’s what to expect in Season 1… and beyond!
Blizzard Seasons 1, 2 & 3 Content Confirmed!
Throw surveillance 2Fans of the first part won’t be out of place: you’ll find some familiar characters while a few new ones will appear. For Season 1 alone, Blizzard names three new heroes : the presentations with Sojourn and La Reine des Junkers (which will be playable during the second beta) have already been made, there is only one new hero left – it will be a support – giving us an appointment next month!
However, these are not the only elements that Blizzard promises us for Season 1. In particular, it will be about introducing them 6 new maps, a new game mode — christened “Push” and will also have its own menu — and a ton of new skins, including a legendary one. The following ? Blizzard already has it planned as the studio is aiming for it a nine-week rotation between seasons and we already know what season 2, scheduled for December 6th, and beyond has in store for us! The only downside for now: the use of PvE (player vs environment) which will not take place until 2023, a few months after the launch of the title.
