What’s next after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Apparently, a free-to-play offshoot is planned for the following year.
What Activision has planned for this year is already clear. As usual, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on an annual basis. But current rumors say that a multiplayer mode called DMZ is in the works, which is based on current trend titles like Hunt: Showdown and Escape from Tarkov. Here, in connection with PvPvE gameplay, the main thing is to weigh up the risks for your own yield.
According to insider RalphsValve, DMZ mode has been in the works for four years. If the previously announced successor to Warzone is well received by players, the mode should appear as a standalone free-to-play title in the first quarter of 2023. Particular attention should be paid to a complex story and sophisticated open world. In terms of content, DMZ is intended to tie in with the single-player campaign of Modern Warfare 2.
