According to studio boss Hidetaka Miyazaki, FromSoftware’s next game is already in the final stages of development.
In an interview with Japanese media 4Gamer, FromSoftware has not only completed the development of an unannounced game, but also has multiple games in development. How many are not shared.
FromSoftware’s upcoming game could be the next entry in the Armored Core series, especially if the January leak is accurate.
According to an investigation leak posted on resetera, Armored Core 6 In development, the survey includes screenshots, two short films, and a game description. It even gave participants a choice on the proposed title.
In 2016, Miyazaki said he was rebooting one of FromSoftware’s IPs, and quite boldly suggested to 4Gamer that the game was Armored Core.
“Armored Core: Judgment Day has been around for a while, and the interim series does have difficulties, but I’m not going to end the Armored Core series,” he said. “I think the core armor concept is still appealing enough to re-sublime into a fun and rewarding game that a lot of good people in the company want to do.
“Well, there’s no way not to make a new FromSoftware’s next game in final stages of development as studio looks to beef up staff for multiple projects. Personally, it’s also a game that really touched me because it kicked off my career as a game creator. “
As for future games, as director, Miyazaki wants to work on “fantasies that are more abstract than past works.”
In the process of making fantasy games for action-RPGs including Elden Ring, Miyazaki says that various ideas and images that don’t apply “continue to accumulate” and are something he wants to explore.
So it’s not clear what Miyazaki’s future or games are currently in development.
Speaking of which, Miyazaki also told 4Gamer FromSoftware is currently hiring for various positions to work on multiple projects. On its recruiting page, FromSoftware lists the various roles it wants to fill. These include game planning, programming, R&D, graphics, engineering, designer, effects, UI and many more jobs.
He has also handed over directing duties to other staff working on some of these projects, which are “not yet at a stage where Miyazaki can discuss them in detail.”
Finally, in the interview, Miyazaki confirmed the update to Elden Ring, but he didn’t specify whether it was extra content or a patch for the game.
