The success story of Dune
Always good news, since a Dune 2 was never set in stone. Although the first part is definitely designed for a sequel, it was heavily dependent on the final box office result. To the delight of many fans, Dune was not only a hit at the box office, but also on the HBO Max streaming service.
At the opening weekend in the USA, Dune brought in over 40 million US dollars, which exceeded all expectations. The film now has over $400.7 million worldwide
Of course one should not forget at this point that Dune was a complete success among critics and viewers alike. You can read our own film review of the SciFi epic under the following link:

Story: What is Dune 2 about?
Dune is based on Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel The desert planet
Of course, be warned of potential spoilers from this point on! If you want to go into Dune 2 on November 17, 2023 without much prior knowledge, you should better stop reading from this point.
As Dune progresses, Paul (Timothee Chalamet) and his mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) spend time with the Fremen. There, Paul and Chani (Zendaya) fall in love and have a child together. This worsens the relationship between Paul and Jessica, who is against this relationship.
The pregnant Jessica also gives birth to Paul’s sister, Alia, after undergoing another initiation ritual Reverend Mother of the Fremen
water of life– a liquid excreted by the giant sandworms of Arrakis.
The book then jumps back in time after Paul’s supernatural powers manifest as a prophet – which is partly due to his constant contact with Spice. Paul becomes the reluctant leader and savior of the Fremen. Ultimately, however, Paul’s status among the Fremen only benefits his plans to eventually exact revenge on the Harkonnen for the fatal blow to House Atreides…
But we don’t want to go into any more detail at this point, there would at least be more than enough material for a potential Dune: Part Three.
