The console implementation of the MMO is now celebrating its sixth anniversary under the name World of Tanks: Mercenaries – including records and special promotions.

The free World of Tanks has been on the PC since 2011, but also the console version World of Tanks: Mercenaries for PS4 and Xbox One has already had several (successful) years under its belt – and of course it is time to celebrate.
On the sixth anniversary of the console version, the makers have now announced all sorts of records. Since the beta launched in 2014, the title has now been played by over 20 million players. For comparison: During the beta test phase there were still 500,000.
Around 8 trillion kilometers were covered in the game, 370 million matches were handled, 56 billion grenades shot down and 6 billion tanks destroyed. There are 113 maps to choose from, as well as 700 authentically replicated combat vehicles from 12 different nations. Several other notable statistics can be found in the infographic below.
But what would a birthday be only with statistics and without corresponding celebrations? To celebrate the anniversary appropriately, a wealth of specials, updates, discounts and even an exclusive gift are waiting for you. Committed commanders can join the game's official social media channels from February 12 through February 21, inclusive Facebook and Twitter win an Xbox One X signed by the development team.
