Patent Reveals Apple Watch Series 8 Temperature Sensor

Apple Watch Series 8

Much has been said about whether the new Apple Watch that should be presented in September could bring new sensors. It seems that the evidence that has just emerged confirms that it is more than likely that yes bring the expected and desired temperature sensor. Also, it looks like this sensor will have quite high efficiency and accuracy. So we’re in luck, all of us who have been waiting for this addition to the Apple Watch.

A few weeks before the Apple Watch’s planned launch in September, Apple published a patent that disclosed a new temperature sensor that was supposedly for the device. From what we can read in the patent, the new sensor will have astonishing precision, which will turn the clock into a complete command and control center. The patent titled “Temperature gradient detection in electronic devices”it can be applied to many devices, but it will almost certainly appear in the new version of the Apple Watch, as this sensor has been widely rumored over the past few months.

According to the patent, the system works calculate the difference between two ends of a probe. One end touches the surface to be measured, while the other is connected to a temperature sensor. The voltage difference between the different ends of the probe can be correlated to a differential temperature measurement. The crucial information is when it can be read, the sensor can be used to measure the “absolute temperature” of an external surface, such as the skin. Apple explicitly mentions how the location of the external probe may be on a back surface, such as a smartwatch back glass, and states that the system includes a high-precision, high-accuracy absolute temperature sensor.

We have to keep in mind that whenever we talk about patents, anything can happen. We can see how it becomes a reality or how it remains an idea on paper. But it is true that on this occasion, with the previous rumors, we can think it will happen.
