Let’s get straight to the point. Spider-Man is not a new game, in fact we have already reviewed this title many times, whether it was released in 2018 or in its re-release with the Remastered Edition, accompanied by the likeness of Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PlayStation 5 gamers. In In that case, we won’t be returning to Spider-Man a third time to review the game itself and evaluate its PC release. No, rather this review focuses solely on the performance of the PC edition (graphics, smoothness, modern options), simply to see how the game holds up on a platform that is even superior to last generation consoles in general, purely speaking in the hardware sense.
So if you haven’t played this brilliant action-adventure title from Insomniac Games (and it still is brilliant btw), you can check out our previous reviews at the links above. But if you’re wondering how to play on PC, you’ve come to the right place.
First of all, it should be noted that Spider-Man is a 2018 game, although this edition is the most modern and the one with the most remasters. Still, this isn’t the most demanding title in terms of Requirement it affects and you can play it on a wide variety of computers. But for this analysis, we have the game running on a super gaming PC with a GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card, an 11th Gen i9-11900KF processor, all with 64GB of RAM and 2k (1440p) resolution. ). Basically this means you have to expect very high or ultra graphics settings, but how well does that work?

While testing it, we found that the frames per second on the highest settings will rise and fall depending on what you’re doing, which is typical for open worlds. With the ray tracing and the rest of the small graphics settings to the maximum, we saw that the highest peak was on the 85-90 fps, usually in animation scenes inside buildings (not in the open world). As you swing through the crowded streets of Manhattan fighting criminals, the rate could drop as low as 35, although it should be noted that if you’re standing on the streets of New York, they’ll remain stable somewhere in the middle.
Although the frames aren’t everything in this format, you can see a beautiful portrait of New York City cityscapes on PC. From the blinding reflections to the details of planes flying in distant neighborhoods, there’s not much to complain about here. And from a comparative point of view, the PS5 should reproduce this level of detail in the maximum 60 frames per second mode power RT, Various tricks are used for this, e.g. B. Reducing pedestrian density to ensure the console can display and support such a level of detail and fluidity.

If you’re wondering about the other side of the spectrum, lowest graphics settings makes the game incredibly smooth. In the most intense moments, fps should stay at a minimum of 71, peaking at 203 in low-motion situations. This makes net-swinging and fighting unlike anything we’ve seen before in the game, and there’s plenty of satisfaction in performing chain tricks while catapulting across skyscrapers. What’s interesting about the minimum settings is that the game still looks amazing, although there are a few flaws in terms of finer detail and reflections.
In our experience, the best settings for gaming on a less powerful PC are the medium graphics options, as these showed a maximum fps of 171 and a minimum of 67, which isn’t too far from the minimum graphics settings, but the experience does improve with a little more detail here and there.
It should be known that one of the biggest improvements of the PC edition is the inclusion of a slider for Adjust the field of view (FoV)., allowing you to see more of New York City as you swing through it and even giving you a better perspective of what’s going on during combat. This is possibly the best update of all that the PC edition has released, as it vastly improves the gaming experience in almost every way.
The only thing that shakes the PC edition a bit is the controls and the DualSense controller support. That’s not bad at all, but if you want access to all of DualSense’s features (haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, etc.) then you’ll need to use a USB cable to play. Because PCs tend to be louder than next-gen consoles when under pressure, it’s difficult to hear controller audio over fan noise or through headphones. Keyboard and mouse controls also work well but are not appropriate for playing Spider-Man Remastered with a controller as it was intended to be played with this method of control since its original release on PS4.
My biggest concerns about this game on PC are minimal, but then again, this PC edition doesn’t feel like a huge step up like other PlayStation to PC transfers have. Perhaps it’s because Spider-Man Remastered is one of the few PlayStation Studios titles to have had a first release on PS5 before coming to PC, making the performance jump between the two platforms not quite as impressive as Take Days Gone, for example for PC, God of War for PC, and Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete for PC, all of which have had next-gen performance upgrades at best but never had early releases on PS5.
Still, any gamer who hasn’t experienced this game should consider Spider-Man Remastered an absolute must-try, as this title remains one of the greatest PlayStation titles in recent history and this platform change does little to diminish or spoil that impression (in this case improve it a bit). In short, the work of Insomniac Games continues to be brilliant no matter where it is played. It’s a shame the Miles Morales bonus content didn’t arrive as part of this release.
