news hardware Apple: The three controversies the iPhone 14 will face if the smartphone really is what we expect it to be
With Apple’s upcoming keynote, speculation about the next iPhone models is rife. This year the company promises no less than 4 iPhone 14 and the least we can say is that they have already started to get people talking.
iPhone 14: two standard models and two Pro models
As for several years and the release of the iPhone, Apple is expected to unveil several iPhone models again during its keynote on September 7th – According to insiders. This year we should have the right to 4 models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
We will therefore logically have the right to two “Standard” models and two “Pro” models.. And it’s with the Pro Max version that the biggest changes are going to happen, and the least we can say is that by the time the iPhone releases, they’ll likely be pouring a lot of ink. Brand lovers and critics will therefore certainly argue for their cause, especially if all leaks should turn out to be genuine. In fact, we can already tell you the 3 things that will get people talking the most: the screen, the processor, and the price.
Screen without a notch, but not for all models
If you want the quality of the screen to be the same on all models in the range, the notch for the front camera should be different depending on the smartphone version. If Apple had decided to reduce this famous notch on the iPhone 13, it should be further reduced on the 14th of the name until it is only visible two small dots at the top of the screen. But as we explained to you, this novelty could not appear on all models. In fact, the “non-Pro” versions should not be equipped with this novelty and would therefore keep the dimensions of the iPhone 13.
Will the A15 chip still be at the level this year?
The A15 Bionic Chip was the engine behind the iPhone 13and we could see it this year, It’s a very good processor that has really raised the bar compared to its predecessor. Rumor has it that the latter is doing so well that Apple could bring it back into the “non-Pro” iPhone 14s.
A few months ago, the first rumors about this difference in the processor between the same iPhone generation appeared, which was later confirmed by other sources. So we should end up with a new A16 chip on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
At the moment we don’t know what improvements this new chip has in store for us. Without entering into further debate, it is legitimate to wonder whether it is necessary to change a processor so frequently on a range of smartphones. One thing is for sure, the price factor (we’ll go into that a little deeper) is likely to make a lot of noise because if Apple maintains or doesn’t lower the price of the iPhone 14, the company will face a lot of criticism.
Always the price
War in Ukraine, inflation, semi-conductor crisis still affecting many factories, obstacles in distribution circles… The list of reasons to increase the price of the iPhone 14 could be very long. The latest rumors are that Apple has already ordered 90 million units of its next iPhone to be manufactured. All this in order to bring the devices to the market earlier and thus reduce the expected negative impact at the checkout level. However, it is not yet clear whether their price will increase or not.
As leaks about model features and new features come in spades, Apple always finds a way to keep the price list of its iPhones a secret until the presentation. At JV Tech, we don’t have a crystal ball to see what Apple has in store for us in terms of pricing. Will they level up? Will they go down? Will only two models increase in price? The only thing we know for sure is that it will be a controversial factor no matter what. Many people also fear that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will reach amazing sums. The answer on September 7th – if the insiders were right.
