Gaming News Atomic Heart: Promising to be ultra-nervous, this Soviet BioShock will be included in Xbox Game Pass
It’s not forbidden to take inspiration from the genre’s tenors, especially when things are done well and with a minimum of creativity. Atomic Hearts seems to fall into that category, except that the BioShock formula (particularly from a gameplay perspective) is revisited here with USSR gravy.
The sickle and the plasmid
Atomic Heart first appeared four years ago: thanks to its atypical universe and unbridled action, it quickly built a solid reputation.. Welcome to the Soviet Union between the 1930s and 1960s: it is nonetheless an alternate reality where technology is very advanced. The player embodies a KGB agent who is sent to investigate a mysterious factory.
Nothing goes as planned on site and in the surrounding area, and the “populations”, both organic and robotic, end up being hostile. A good excuse to take up arms through monstrously nervous combat, allowing you to wield both firearms and elemental powers with the other hand.
A pumped up FPS (Soviet)
Story To add to the excitement, Russian studio Mundfish has just released a brand new trailer (found at the beginning of the article) that focuses solely on the gameplay. There we find Bioshock but also fast FPS à la Wolfenstein for a really promising result: The sensations promise to be visceral and the technical performance lives up to expectations.
It remains to be seen what the universe will give (quite fascinating) and in particular the story of how it will be written. To give the public confidence, we had learned that the screenwriter had been working on the script for more than seven years, just that. Fingers crossed that the game is worth the candle.
Atomic Heart will be released later this year for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One. It will also be available in Game Pass from D-Day.
