Over the weekend, VGC reporter Andrew Marmo on twitter Share some photos that have many Silent Hill fans on the edge of their seats again. The images are reportedly footage from Bloober Team’s upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2 – albeit in poor quality.
Now, we know that Bloober Team is working with Konami, as the pair formed a partnership last summer. Just a month after that announcement, rumors began to surface that Bloober Team was working on a new Silent Hill game.

Bloober’s chief marketing officer, Tomasz Galikowski, joined IGN in an interview to clear up the rumors. He ended up leaving fans with more questions, though. The CMO told IGN that Bloober has applied to Konami for two projects, codenamed Dum Spiro and Black.
It was concluded that at the time Bloober was unable to offer Dum Spiro “in a form that is appropriately sensitive to the subject and at the same time commercially viable.” This caused Dum Spiro to leave active development.
Black’s idea was also shelved. Galikowski did share, however, that the developers are continuing to work on a game under the same codename, although they say, “It’s now a completely different project than what you’ve seen on the web over the past few days.”
Galikovsky’s last words in particular convinced many that, although he didn’t make it clear, it could be a Silent Hill game. Now, with more leaks to come, the rumors surrounding Team Bloober and Silent Hill are running rampant again.
Responding to the leak, ResetEra user Dusk Golem, who claimed to have some knowledge of the leaked images, shared: “They are real, but they’re not even close to the final product. These are from Bloober’s internal promotional demos prior to approval, so it’s It’s actually a proof-of-concept with no budget, not a final product, keep that in mind. Of all the leaks that might have been leaked, this isn’t actually what the final game looks like.”
“I mentioned before Konami was looking for a pitch in the summer of 2018, and this was one of the pitches that got the green light, but please accept it for what it is; a proof-of-concept doesn’t have a budget demo to sell a concept.”
That means, if Dusk Golem is telling the truth, these particular exploits have been around for four years. If Bloober Team is currently working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, or a Silent Hill game of any kind (given previous leaks hinted at more than one Silent Hill game on the card), then it certainly looks like it will be the same as Silent Hill is very different. While all the rumors are controversial, Konami did issue a DMCA strike last time, arguing that Silent Hill reboot images leaked online. This isn’t confirmation by any means, but it does add fuel to rumors that we’ll see some new installments of the Silent Hill series soon.
What do you think of the latest Silent Hill leak? I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of the grainy Silent Hill-esque screenshot leaks now; Konami, please give us something we already have access to.
