The iPhone 14 Plus is the new iPhone Mini – you can actually see it that way. For one thing, Apple didn’t give the iPhone 13 Mini a successor as part of the “Far Out” event. So there is no iPhone 14 Mini. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Plus with a price starting at 799 US dollars is the cheapest way to get an Apple cell phone with a large display.

The difference between iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus can only be found in the size of the built-in display. The display on the iPhone 14 measures 6.1 inches (15.49 centimeters), the iPhone 14 Plus scores with a diagonal of 6.7 inches (17.02 centimeters). This results in a screen resolution of 1,170 x 2,532 pixels on the small iPhone 14. 1,284 x 2,778 pixels on the large iPhone 14 Plus.

Design: Very familiar

When it comes to design, Apple once again stays true to itself. You have to look very closely at the case to see the visual differences between the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. That doesn’t have to be a disadvantage, but we would have wished for a little freshness for the cheaper iPhone 14 models.

While the upper screen gaps known as “notch” are rapidly disappearing in the Android world, Apple continues to build on them. The rearrangement of the front camera and the components required for Face ID are reserved for the iPhone 14 Pro models.

The camera hump still protrudes relatively strongly from the housing. Most users should have gotten used to this by now, especially since the hump is hardly bothersome as soon as the smartphone is in a protective cover. You can pre-order the new Apple iPhone 14 starting at $799. The price for the cheapest iPhone 14 is 999 dollars. The iPhone 14 Plus starts at 1,149 dollars. Regular sales begin September 16 for the iPhone 14, and the iPhone 14 Plus goes on sale October 7. Pre-orders start on September 9 at 2 p.m.
