Today, Electronic Arts announced a new studio, Seattle-b ased Ridgeline Games, tasked with developing a narrative campaign set in the world of Battlefield.
Led by Halo co-founder Marcus Lehto, the studio is made up of industry veterans from around the world, “excited to tell the story and take players on incredible adventures only possible in the Battlefield world.”
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with DICE and Ripple Effect and be responsible for expanding the narrative, storytelling and character development opportunities for the Battlefield franchise,” said Lehto, Game Director and Head of Ridgeline Games.
“We continue to invest in the future of the franchise by bringing in new talent and perspectives,” said Vince Zampella, Founder and Head of Battlefield Franchise at Respawn.
“Battlefield is in the best position to succeed as Marcus and his team at Ridgeline Games join the world-class global team we already have.”
Battlefield 2042 is the latest mainline entry in the series, with Season 2 kicking off on August 30 with a new map, a new Specialist, three new weapons and two vehicles.
