Microsoft is changing the UI of the Xbox console and wants user input for changes to layout, design and ease of use.
Starting this week, a random subset of Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring will see some of these changes as the Xbox team tries out different approaches.
Also, as you scroll down, the team is exploring options for new game channels and favorites. This will include content curated for you based on the games you play or how you get the most out of your Game Pass subscription.
Some of the key changes in the first round of preview updates include the “jump back” row. This will give you quick access to recently played games and apps.
You’ll be able to access important system apps like Settings, Store, Search, and My Games & Apps, as they’ll have dedicated tiles on Xbox Home.
There will be an updated layout along with visual identifiers to form a consistent design, and as you scroll down, you’ll see curated categories and suggestions tailored to your gaming preferences.
Microsoft says it will take some time to design and implement because it wants to make sure the experience is “the best possible.” So it’s slowly rolling out changes and iterating along the way.
The company expects the new home experience to launch in 2023.
