Before launching Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red had big plans that have since been drastically scaled back. A standalone multiplayer was scrapped, there is no longer any talk of the Season Pass and instead of several story DLCs it will be only
still give Phantom Liberty.
At the same time, the developer studio has The Witcher: A New Saga Begins the return to the well-known role-playing series around Geralt, Ciri and Co. announced. Still, that doesn’t mean CD Projekt Red is giving up on Cyberpunk 2077 – at least that’s what Senior Vice President of Business Development Michal Nowakowski promises.
What we know so far about the big story extension Phantom Liberty, for which even Keanu Reeves returns as Johnny Silverhand, we have summarized in the following overview:

CD Projekt Red sticks to cyberpunk
CD Projekt Red recently revealed a lot for Cyberpunk 2077: Not only was the latest update introduced and released with Patch 1.6, there was also a first look at the first story extension Phantom Liberty.
In the same breath, the developers also announced that no further add-ons on the scale of Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine are currently planned. Sobering news for one or the other fan who might have hoped for more – especially considering the far more ambitious plans that existed before Cyberpunk 2077 was released.
Only fitting that the topic in the last investor conference by CD Projekt Red. Michal Nowakowski commented on this as follows:
Regarding the question of further expansions for Cyberpunk, we decided to create a big addon […] to develop, which makes use of all the advantages and competencies of the NewGen consoles. At the same time, we are striving to further develop the Cyberpunk br and – that is, beyond this one Cyberpunk expansion. We’ve put a lot of time and effort into building this franchise and we’re definitely going to build on it with new stories, experiences, content – and not just in video game form.

What remains open: There are no more details about these plans at the moment. It will be exciting, for example, whether Cyberpunk 2077 will be expanded in any way – just not with more big story DLCs – or whether we have to be patient for new spin-offs that are not just games.
This is known so far: Currently we only know what CD Projekt Red has planned for new patches after update 1.6. In addition, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an official anime based on the video game, will be available on Netflix on September 13, 2022.
You can watch the first teaser trailer for Phantom Liberty, which will be released sometime in 2023 exclusively for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, as follows:

As of July 2022, the most important of these include:
- Phantom Liberty for Cyberpunk 2077
- The Witcher: A New Saga Begins
- Gwent
- Projects from acquired developer studio The Molasses Flood
- The next-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
