Xbox Chief Phil Spencer was recently reminded that he said final fantasy 14 Should come to Xbox, which is apparently still the plan.
It wasn’t until three years ago that Spencer did promise that the team at Xbox was working with director Naoki Yoshida to bring the game to Xbox One. Well, we now have a whole new generation of Xbox consoles, and we can still see Catwoman or Paladins. Now, as reported by Game Watch (translated by VGC), Spencer has reiterated his commitment to bringing games to the platform.
“Of course we announced (laughs),” Spencer said. “Of course, we haven’t given up. This is Microsoft and Square Enix’s commitment to gamers, and we will continue to coordinate our efforts.”
Final Fantasy 14 originally launched on PS3 and PC in 2010, and later made its way to PS4 and then PS5. The Xbox 360 version was actually in development prior to release, but Microsoft’s policy on cross-platform servers prevented it from being released on that platform. This means that the now very successful MMO hasn’t launched on any Xbox consoles at any time.
A number of Final Fantasy games, such as the unfairly maligned Final Fantasy 13, have been added to Game Pass, suggesting Microsoft’s interest in making them available on the service. So it may only be a matter of time before 14 Xbox consoles roll out.
Over the years, crossovers have become increasingly common in online gaming, with titles including Fortnite and multidimensional Having it makes it easier for players to play together.
Final Fantasy 14 recently wrapped up the main story that had been set since the game’s rebirth, but Yoshida said the next expansion and the next story are already in the works, or at least he’s working on the plot in-house.
