As is well known, the current Resident Evil: Village will soon receive a large story DLC. This should finally complete the Winters plot.
In 2021, Capcom released Resident Evil: Village, which largely lived up to expectations. You take on the role of Ethan Winters. Since its predecessor Resident Evil 7, the plot has actually only revolved around the Winters family – but that will soon be over.
In an interview with IGN Capcom Director Kento Kinoshita has now commented and confirmed that the new DLC will finally conclude this story arc. All of the add-on content coming in a few weeks has the sole purpose of bringing the family story to an end.
Specifically, Kinoshita said they are “creating the story ‘Shados of Rose’ to complete the Winters family saga.” Anyone who has grown fond of the current Resident Evil characters will have to say goodbye to them in the near future, willy-nilly.
Equivalent to this is the fact that you then get to do it with a completely new character in Resident Evil 9 – or a well-known character like Leon returns; in fact, many fans of the franchise are waiting for the latter. In any case, there is already a lot of speculation in the community, but Capcom has not yet been able to look at the cards as to how Resident Evil will continue in terms of action.
First up is the Shadows of Rose DLC, which will be available for all supported platforms from October 28, 2022. This takes place 16 years after the events of the main game and you take on the role of Ethan Winter’s daughter Rose.
