It’s been clear for quite some time that Super Mario Bros. is getting a movie adaptation and now it’s getting down to business as there is both a teaser date and the movie’s release date.
Years ago it was announced that a Super Mario Bros. film adaptation was in the works. At that time, a theatrical release was still expected this year, but that was before Corona. Now there are clear signs of life to the film.
As New York Comic Con announced via Twitter, a first teaser will be shown at this year’s event on October 6, at 10 p.m. And the start date is also mentioned in the tweet – the film will be in cinemas on April 7, 2023.
The film adaptation of Nintendo and Illumination is an animated film. The speaking role of Mario is taken over by Chris Pratt. Also joining the cast are Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong – not exactly a cast of unknowns.
