news culture House of Dragons: The Game of Thrones Spin-off Episode 6 Actresses Recast!
You may have had trouble recognizing some of the House of Dragon characters in Episode 6. In fact, some characters have been recast.
house of the dragonthe spin-off of game of Thronesdecided Reshaping of several characters out Episode 6 of the first season. We explain it to you.
Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen switched heads, right?
Several characters have been recast, starting with two of the most important: Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen. First interpreted or by Emily Carey and Milly Alcock, the characters are young in the first five episodes. However, after Episode 5, the series does so a time leap of ten years. The majority of the characters didn’t need to be recast since they were already adults, but Alicent and Rhaenyra were young women so it took time Casting new actresses to interpret them as adults. The Princess of House Targaryen is now played by Emma d’Arcy, which you may already know from the Hanna series. For her part, the future queen of the House of Hightower is now being thoroughly interpreted Olivia Cook you may have seen in Ready Player One.
Further revisions will follow
Other characters were also recast for similar reasons. That Twins Valeryon, Laenor and Leana, for example twice already. Laenor was played by as a child Matthew Schnitzerthen teenagers from Theo Nateit is now interpreted by John Macmillan. Her on-screen sister, in turn, was entitled to it Nova Fouillis-Mosé, Savanna Steyn and finally Nanna Blondel. Let’s also mention two other Targaryens: Aegon IIplayed very young by the twins Rory and Jake Heardbefore being interpreted by as of Episode 6 Ty Tennant. It should also be interpreted even older, from Tom Glynn Carneywhat predicts another time warp this season. Finally, that Alicent and Viserys’ baby, Helaena Targaryenwas played by a unknown childbefore assuming youthful features d’Evie Allen. He too should be aging visibly, because he is Phia Saban who will interpret it according to the future in time.
Note that while Milly Alcock confirmed there were talks of including young Rhaenyra in Season 2, she claimed to have “no idea” if that would happen. We therefore have no confirmation of Possibility of returning young actors and actresses for their characters
Overall sympathetic reactions
That New versions are often badly slandered in the series, but it may be necessary mark the change of temporality, character development over time… we can imagine la series The Crown, for example, which describes the life of Elizabeth II and her entourage over several decades. The series has chosen Every two seasons, the entire cast of main characters is changed (not in the middle of a season like HotD), allowing to mark the aging of the latter but also the change of era of their world and country.
For House of the Dragon, the public generally understood and appreciated the rewrites, in this case due to a temporal ellipse and the youth of the characters in the early episodes.
Yes, that was an insane time warp between HOUSE OF THE DRAGON episodes, but pretty awesome to see the two new actors continue the story of Rhaenyra and Alicent. The episode itself was also pretty solid and saw the family’s downfall begin. #HouseOfTheDragon

I enjoyed House of the Dragon up to Episode 6.
10 year leap forward. Some actors have been changed and do not resemble their younger counterparts. I questioned the episode than enjoying the episode.
Disappointing!#housedragon #HouseOfTheDragonHBO
