redcrest is a fruit that grows even in the harshest desert environments of Sumeru, and is an important material resource for the ascension of certain characters in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 3.1 introduced the four-star character Hydro wielding a polearm Candace;. Redcrest is one of his ascension materials, so you’ll want to collect these desert fruits in order to increase his power.
This guide covers everything you need to know about how you can use redcrest and where to find Redcrest.
Where to find Redcrest in Genshin Impact
Red Crests are found exclusively in the desert region west of Sumeru, which became available in Genshin Impact update 3.1. The desert lacks as many landmarks as the forest region, though, so it’s best to refer to the included screenshots where we’ve marked the Redcrest locations.
Starting at the first Statue of Seven at the entrance to Aaru Village – just head to the right of the bridge leading into the village, you can get to an area with three Redcrests growing on a cacti cluster. Back at the statue, turn around and go up a slope that takes you onto a path around the outskirts of the village. On this path, you will find a Redcrest near the start and another as you continue.
Continue on this path and you’ll pass a teleport waypoint, then reach a rocky underpass, where you’ll also find two Redcrests. Continue further down this path and there’s another Redcrest in the distance that you can slide towards.
If you return to the teleport waypoint you passed through, there are more Redcrests you can reach just southwest and west of Dar al-Shifa. Three Redcrests grow on cacti in a small ravine to the left of the waypoint. Climb above this ravine and you’ll find a Redcrest above it, while if you head east from here you’ll find some cacti with another Redcrest to pick up.
From the teleport waypoint south of Dar al-Shifa, head east and cross the sands to find a Redcrest. Now return to this waypoint and drop down to find a Redcrest, then continue south to encounter another cactus that you will need to climb to collect another Redcrest.
Then from the teleport waypoint southwest of Dar al-Shifa look east and you’ll see some cacti, but if you head to the nearby rocks you’ll find more cacti right behind it with two Redcrests in growth. Now head south and drop down to the ground below to find a cactus with a Redcrest, and if you continue along that cliff you’ll find another cactus with two Redcrests.
Then, from the teleport waypoint south of Sobek Oasis, head southeast down a slope to find a cactus spot with three Redcrests, as well as some enemy mushrooms. From the same waypoint, you can slide down the cliff to the southwest past many ore mining sites to reach trees and cacti. A Redcrest can be picked up by climbing on one of the cacti.
From another teleport waypoint further south of the previous waypoint, head southeast and you’ll find two Redcrests growing on a large cactus – luckily they’re growing at its base. From there, head northeast and slide until you pass over a red tree, before you see another red tree and a cactus together. Go down to this cactus and you can pick up two Redcrests.
From the teleport waypoint in the southernmost part of the map, head northwest and cross the sands and you’ll eventually reach a cacti cluster and two Redcrests.
Next, head to the southwest side of the map and, starting at the Dune of Elusion teleport point, head south towards a cliff where you’ll find some enemies perched nearby – though you should be able to quickly sneak up for nearby cacti and pick up two Redcrests. Then head west and you’ll find a Redcrest growing on a small cactus, while another Redcrest can be found a bit further near some ruins.
Back at the same waypoint – head northwest to find a cacti cluster with two Redcrests, then continue west where to your left is a Redcrest with nearby enemies, while at to your right, a Redcrest grows on a solitary cactus. Continue on this path southwest until you come across three cacti, with a Redcrest on each. You can continue on this path until you find another Redcrest on the way to Molten Dune, or simply teleport to that landmark’s waypoint to reach it faster. The cactus where the Redcrest grows is next to a palm tree.
From the Molten Dune, head northwest through mostly desert until you reach some ruins where there are a few palm trees, as well as cacti, earning you a total of three Redrests.
Next, head to the northern part of the map where the Garden of Endless Pillars estate is to find some cacti and a total of four Redcrests nearby. Complete the puzzle to access the domain to reach them more easily.
From there, head east towards the Dune des Carouses. Along the way, you’ll encounter enemies loitering near some ruins, where there are also cacti you can grab two Redcrests from. Then passing the Carouse Dune southeast of the temple is a mini oasis with palm trees and some cacti, with two Redcrests up for grabs.
Just southeast of Carouse Dune is a Statue of the Seven. From there, you can find nearby Redcrests that grow from three spots.
First, head northwest to pick up a Redcrest. Then return to the statue and this time head north, using the four-wire seal to speed up your traverse, before dropping back down to lower ground where you’ll find cacti with two Redcrests.
Back at the statue, this time head east and downhill until you reach some rocks where you can mine ore and collect two Redcrests.
Southeast of this statue and east of Khemenu Temple is another teleport point where you can also fast travel to pick up two Redcrests growing on a nearby cactus.
We then come to the northeast of the map near Khaj-Nisut and the village of Aaru, although the teleport waypoint you must use is the one northeast of the Dune of Carouses.
Head southeast of this waypoint, grabbing onto a large rock in front of you, and you’ll come across a cactus with a Redcrest – keep going straight and further down is another group of cacti with two Redcrests.
Return to the waypoint and this time head east to reach a path below. Closest to you is a Redcrest, and if you cross to the other side, next to the cliff, you’ll pick up two more Redcrest. From there climb up the rocks keeping to the left where there is less overhang and once at the top continue straight until you see some cacti in front of you where you can pick up two Redcrests.
Finally, from the teleport waypoint north of Aaru Village, just head west to find two Redcrests roughly on a straight path. There is still a spot of Redcrests to farm, which is between this waypoint and the previous one, but you can get them on this run as well. For these, just continue southwest, past some cacti and bare trees, and you’ll eventually come across large cacti near two dormant machine enemies, though they’ll attack if you get too close. . Pass them then climb on the cacti to get two Redcrests.
Happy Redcrest hunting!
