We increasingly want to see this augmented and/or virtual reality viewer that Apple is preparing for 2023. Tim Cook has released weighty statements on the augmented reality market, even saying that in a few years we will not understand not how we lived without her. And that means in Cupertino they have a strong bet.
And this bet, as always, will not only be the Material. Around the ‘Apple Glass’ or ‘Apple Reality’, there must be an operating system and applications that provide a user experience that breaks the mold compared to the glasses of the competition. And one of these applications, according to recent rumors, could be a completely redesigned iMessage
More features, s ame closed ecosystem
According to my resource, Apple is working on a completely revamped new version of iMessage. New home, chat rooms, video clips and new augmented reality chat features. It should be released next year with the new helmet #Apple #AppleAR #iMessage pic.twitter.com/Wp2WT8apNX

MajinBu doesn’t have the best success record in the rumor mill (it doesn’t appear on AppleTrack’s reliability list), but it hit the mark with a few prop leaks. Now, from his Twitter, we see how he states that we will see an iMessage renewal with new sections: video clips, chat rooms, a new main interface and features integrated into an augmented reality interface. The source attaches a screenshot with a concept, although it looks more like a loose interpretation of what we’ve seen.
Gurman has mentioned in the past that Memoji is going to play an important role in the viewer, so we can imagine something like “virtual rooms” where our performances could appear to be discussing as if they were in a real room. If the rumors are not false we might see it as part of iOS 17.
There is no doubt that the experience of this iMessage in a virtual interface is going to be (must be) something revolutionary, although probably this will continue to be an entirely Apple device-only experience
In the meantime, let’s say it all, we have to admit that Apple has been working on some exciting improvements that bring iMessage to a level similar to that of its rivals: edit and delete sent messages, send videos or Safari tab groups, reply to individual messages, pin conversations… iMessage keeps pace with the market, it’s just that it’s still reserved to those who have an Apple device.
