With A Plague Tale: Requiem, one of the highlights of the autumn games will be released today. However, developer Asobo Studio has no plans for another sequel so far.

A Plague Tale: Innocence was a surprise hit, and the continuation of the adventures of Amicia and Hugo in A Plague Tale: Requiem, out today, was basically a logical consequence of its success. However, according to Asobo Studio, we cannot expect another sequel for the time being.

In an interview with the Playstation Blog, game director Kevin Choteau confirmed that Asobo wants to see how players react to A Plague Tale: Requiem before deciding if there will be another game in the series. If Requiem doesn’t go down well with the players, they want to devote themselves to another project, preferably a completely new brand.

“I think that’s the end of it for now,” says Choteau. “But the door is never closed and we’ll see how the players react to that. We want to see their reaction before making a decision. They are the engine of our production and if they don’t like what we’ve done, then we have to let’s do something else.”

So even if Asobo decided to produce another part, it would probably take a few years anyway. So that’s it for now with Amicia, Hugo and the rats.

In any case, we think that you shouldn’t miss the game, which is available today for PC, Xbox Series X/S and also in Xbox Game Pass – here for our review of A Plague Tale: Requiem.
