Red Dead Online Stadia Players will be able to transfer things like experience and gold, but there’s a catch.
Red Dead Online player ItsColourTV asks after Google announces it will shut down Stadia One-time transfer of his 6000 hour archive. Understandably, he wants to be able to continue the amount of time he’s spent on the game without having to start over. Now, in a message he received from Rockstar Games, it has been confirmed that he and other players will be able to transfer his profile to PC, Xbox One or PS4.
“We are pleased to confirm that all active Stadia players who played Red Dead Online in the 30 days prior to Stadia’s announcement of closure will be able to transfer any earned RDO$, Gold Bars, XP, Character XP and Character Tokens to another an existing account on a PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4” read message. “Players only need to link the target game account to their Rockstar Social Club account.”
Did you catch it? If you are such a player and wish to transfer their data to another account, you need to have played the game within the specific time frame listed. For other useful moves, it’s an odd warning, as there are various reasons players might not be able to play the game for a month-long window.
Since announcing that Stadia will launch next January, many developers have indeed announced that they will help players develop certain games. Ubisoft confirmed that Stadia users will be able to transfer their games to PC via Ubisoft Connect, and Bungie and IO Interactive are working hard to help Destiny 2 and Hitman players complete their games.
