iOS 16.2 Beta

One day after the official launch of iOS and iPadOS 16.1, along with macOS Ventura 13 and the rest of the updates for Apple Watch, Apple TV and HomePods, Apple released the first beta of your next update.

With the arrival of macOS Ventura 13.1, iOS and iPadOS 16.2 that Apple has just released (reserved for developers for the moment), the Freeform application is appearing for the first time, for collaborative work, as we have seen for the first time during the last WWDC 2022 in June. This application, which is literally a blank canvas, will allow teamwork from iPhone, iPad and Mac, where each member of the work team can add their images, notes, documents, links, etc. It also seamlessly integrates with the FaceTime app, so attendees can video call and see changes that are included in the app in real time.

In addition to this new application, other innovations are included, such as the iPad compatibility, with M1 and M2 processors, with external displays. This feature appeared in early betas of iPadOS 16, but Apple later removed it to work on it further before release.

It seems that the heart of the novelties of this new version released by Beta focuses on the iPad, without other notable news in the rest of the devices which also have their own beta version ready for download. This is a first beta version, so it is more than likely that in the following ones other news will be included that affect iPhone and Apple Watch, while in Apple TV and HomePod few changes are expected and will mostly deal with bugfixes. It’s also important to remember (and Apple is warning you) that the Freeform app and support for external displays are in the testing phase and will surely contain bugs that will need to be worked out in future betas.
