The news continues the success of the series. In 2019, A Plague Tale: Innocence climbed to No. 9 on the UK bestseller list, with more than a million total sales in just over a year. A Plague Tale: Requiem has soared to the same level in just one month.
Why this is the case may come down to a number of factors. On the one hand, the reviews for Requiem for a Plague Tale were very positive. Not only has it been praised in our own glowing reviews, but the game has a Metacritic score of 85. An established quality of Innocence, the sequel probably has a lot of hype around it.
Most importantly, October is a month without much competition for A Plague Tale: Innocence. Scorn is great as the only narrative-centric game, but lacks the AAA appeal and the fanbase of A Plague Tale: Requiem. Overwatch 2 is a controversial multiplayer shooter. Gotham Knights is masturbation.
