the team behind cell division remodeling The project was teased by discussing some of the expected technical changes, and some concept art was shown.
According to technical director Christian Carriere, some of the improvements that can be expected are advanced artificial intelligence, and male special forces soldiers will “break through differently or enter rooms differently” than ordinary security personnel.
The team is also improving Sam Fisher’s “cat and mouse” game with enemies. You can also expect audio and visual updates that will deliver “compelling and detailed settings”.
Last year, Ubisoft announced that it was working on a remake of the original Splinter Cell, while Far Cry 6’s development studio was in the works.
Until today, nothing has really been discussed since then, but a job listing back in September provided some information on what to expect.
The listing says the team behind the game is “rewriting and updating the story for a modern audience” and hopes to “maintain the spirit and themes of the original games while exploring our characters and world, making them more authentic and believable.”
Of course, Ubisoft isn’t prepared to talk too much about the game since it’s still in early development. However, producer Matt West said at the time of the announcement that the team wanted to “make sure that the spirit of the early games remains intact, in all the ways that gave early Splinter Cell its identity.”
“So when we’re building it from the ground up, we’re going to update it visually, as well as some design elements to match player comfort and expectations, and we’re going to keep it linear like the original game, rather than letting it be open world.”
