Smart guys figured out how to duplicate Shiny in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple, but don’t do it!
Nintendo’s double-big release has been making a lot of noise since its release on November 18th. Despite being ridiculed or shunned for its flaws, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet also has a very large number of fans who trudge through Paldea to fill up their Pokedex. The smart guys seem to have found a way to make their job a lot easier by duplicating their little critters, and even the shiny ones! But there is a big risk.
You can duplicate your Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Purple…
In fact, several players have reported that if you’re near an area with a load (like downtown, for example), all you have to do is catch a Pokemon and then switch areas to cause a load. Once it’s done, you’ll need to quickly save your game and then quit the game.
When you reconnect, the captured Pokemon will reappear. A bug exploit that allows you to duplicate small monsters to catch them in a chain and, in the event that it’s a Shiny Pokemon, capture multiple copies without forcing it.
… but you risk a lot
Although this error should be fixed quickly, use remains possible for the time being. But be careful, as Nintendo is keeping an eye on the grain and could penalize players who made a mistake. Just before the release of Pokemon Scarlet and VioletThe Pokemon Company had stated that it was ready to take action to combat scammers.
This includes players who change their Pokemon data, impersonators, or those who own Pokemon obtained in ways other than through normal play of the game. Therefore, these could also be small monsters caught with exploit bugs.
And the punishment is severe, as those caught using such methods can face outright ban from the franchise’s online services.
Therefore, if in doubt, we strongly advise against having fun with the limits of the game to duplicate your Pokémon. Not to mention that you could corrupt your backup if you get it wrong. Anyway, cheating is wrong.
