Since it first launched in 2020, Valorant has been a PC-exclusive multiplayer shooter. This is not unusual for developer Riot Games, who currently only have the game on PC or mobile platforms.
That said, that all seems set to change in the future, with Riot Games also exploring the possibility of bringing Valorant to console players.
Now, rumors of this have been swirling since June’s Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, when Riot Games announced that its games would be available exclusively through Xbox Game Pass, with a pre-unlocked Agent roster for new players.

As a leak, we have to take information with a grain of salt. However, further developments suggest that Valorant’s migration to consoles is indeed happening. Just this morning, Riot Games shared two new job postings with Hitmarker. Both roles are for Valorant, with one listing the role of Senior Game Designer, console, and the other listing the role of Game Design Manager, console.
As you might expect, each listing details role responsibilities, required qualifications, and some information about Riot Games. The first responsibility of the game design manager is, “to develop the combat vision for the console version of Valorant with the team leaders.” Meanwhile, a line in the senior game designer’s role description reads: “Design and improve features, modes and systems to help bring console gaming products to market.”
While not an official announcement by any means, it does show that the team behind Riot Games is working hard to bring its game to more platforms. It’s unclear when all this will be implemented, but I suspect that if it does, it will be a while before we’ll be able to use controller aim assist to improve headshot chances.
What do you think of all this? Do you think Valorant should remain a PC exclusive, or are you keen to see Riot’s game on consoles?
