With the release of Warzone 2, CoD players were once again let loose on a new Battle Royale map: Al Mazrah is considered by many fans to be a significant improvement over Caldera and already enjoys a pretty good reputation. But of course we like to think back to the good old days in Worldly return. Just ask Steffi.
It is therefore anything but surprising that at least parts of the community are hoping for a return of the very first Warzone map. And now it’s been fueled by a very specific discovery that fans don’t quite agree on: Is this a teaser or just an easter egg? We collect for you what is behind the speculation.
By the way, Verdansk cannot be played at all at the moment – not even in the first Warzone, which recently received the subtitle Caldera

Verdansk in Warzone 2 … at least as a detail
This is what players discovered: In Warzone 2, players have become aware of the default skin of the operator Reyes. A section of the Warzone 1 map Verdansk can be seen on his arm – like the Reddit user tiktokalnuke noted and shared with the community:

What is now speculated: As for the discovery, opinions differ a little as to what it could mean. For example, it is suspected that Reyes’ Verdansk map is simply a small Easter egg with which the developers of Infinity Ward pay tribute to the very first Warzone map.
Likewise, it cannot be ruled out that the texture with the Verdansk snippet simply shows a placeholder that may never have been replaced. Of course, others hope that there is more to the small allusion.
It is also speculated that a potential return from Verdansk will be teased. Why else would Reyes use a Verdansk card? The first Warzone map was retired at the end of 2021 and subsequently replaced by Caldera. A radical change that not everyone was happy with.

That’s how emotional fans said goodbye to “their” map
How are the chances? The fact that Warzone 2 will bring Verdansk back in some form cannot be ruled out due to the map’s popularity. However, there is no official information about it and the hopes of the fans are primarily wishful thinking.
If Verdansk does hit Warzone 2 at some point, it probably won’t be any time soon. After all, the new Battle Royale has just been released and the Al Mazrah map should continue to be the focus of developers and the community in the coming months. For now, fans may have to settle for Call of Duty: Mobile, which could feature Verdansk 2023:

The most important information about CoD Warzone 2
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has been available for free for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S since November 16, 2022. The release was (as with Modern Warfare 2) overshadowed by technical problems. Players quickly knew how to help themselves with their own solutions, while updates and patches remain manageable.
