One of the most useful functions it offers us WhatsApp during a stay with our friends and family is the possibility of share our position in real time. The popular email client allows us to temporarily update our contacts about our current location.

Share location in real time
To share your real-time location with WhatsApp for Android, just open a contact’s or group’s chat and tap Join > Location. There we will see the new option real time location.
By tapping on real time location The first time, a message appears with a brief description of the function. Continuing, we only have to select the time, which can be from 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours and optionally add a comment. By pressing share now our contact will see where we are in real time for the set time or until we stop sharing our location.

Touching the map in the message of our real-time location will open the map in a new screen. there we can enlarge the map, show traffic or switch to satellite or terrain view.
Stop sharing real-time location
Our location will stop sharing when the established maximum time is reached, but at any time we can click on the option stop sharing so that they stop seeing where we are in real time. We can cancel our position from the message or from the map view.
How do you know if you are sharing your location in real time?
If, when sharing your location in real time, you lose sight of your location message, you can access contact or group information to see if you are sharing your location at that time. If so, the message “You are sharing your location in real time” will appear and touching it will access the map to see how much time is left and to be able to stop sharing the location.
Since Settings > Account > Privacy > Live Location You can also see which people and groups you’re sharing your location with in real time, with a shortcut to stop sharing your location with everyone in all those conversations.
