The Activision-Blizzard takeover soap opera is still far from over, although we now have some good news for Xbox fans. Apparently, according to a new report published in the New York Postthis transaction would be closer to completion after one of the FTC judges changed his mind. This brings the Activision purchase one step closer to success. Perhaps after hearing about the concessions Microsoft is willing to make.
At present, of the four judges who make up this panel, two would already be in favor of the purchase. Something that surely this will greatly facilitate the end result of it. In addition, we also know that the Redmond firm would be ready to go to court to face the FTC, something that makes us think that it would have plenty of arguments to win.
Microsoft and Activision-Blizzard: The union is only a matter of time
All this information, added to Microsoft’s good relations with American politics and its excellent commercial record, places the 70% success rate. These were the words of William Kovacic, former chairman of the FTC. On top of that, it also confirms that the intent to make concessions makes it harder for the FTC to look the other way.
As you can see, the hopes of this happening continue to grow. Activision and Microsoft both anticipated that the the purchase became official before the middle of 2023. Apparently they weren’t so lost and we might hear some news very soon. Remember that when this is done, we will start to see new Xbox Game Pass deliveries. Here is a list of some deliveries that could happen, what do you think? I’m sure you want this to become official.
