England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has made some handy saves so far at this World Cup, but between waiting for big chunks of a game, and then there are days between games when there’s a lot of free time to fill. Which he duly did by having a huge gaming setup delivered from home.
Pickford, who plays his club football for Everton, revealed the power move as part of this promotional interview below, which lasts over 20 minutes but which I have autoplayed at the relevant moment:
Seems the guy Yes, really likes to play Fourteen days, and had previously taken gaming laptops with him during his national service so he could play on his days off. But switching between those cramped conditions and his regular setup had proved too much for the Euro 2021 Golden Glove winner, so he thought fuck it for Qatar and had something heavier delivered.
The monogrammed case it arrived in is indeed a “proper piece of kit.”” Inside, it’s still a laptop, but with a custom-built full-size screen included, so that the visual experience on the road corresponds to what he is used to at home.

As for Fourteen days, it’s not just Pickford that plays; As he says above it’s something he plays with the lads and four years ago at the last World Cup in the England squad were known to be absolutely addicted to it:
Aside from their enthusiastic celebrations, the England players have been very accommodating in terms of their own Fortnite antics at camp. It’s no surprise that team youngsters Marcus Rashford and Alli are playing religious, or that the young at heart Raheem Sterling and Lingard are signing up for Epic Games’ best-selling game, but the real revelation was star striker Kane.
Kane, or should we say ‘hkane23’, has completed a staggering 110 games in Russia, closely followed by Tottenham’s (and obviously Fortnite) teammate Alli, aka ‘Delstroyer14’, who has reportedly played 82 times. The pair have previously live streamed their games, including one against defender and team-mate Harry Maguire.
This is 2022, and with the World Cup (for some countries at least) almost a month underway, he’s far from the only person playing there Fourteen days In his free time. But he’s certainly the only one “just trying to get the best frames, trying to get the upper hand” with a monogrammed armored computer case.
It’s also nice to see that he’s had better luck with his power supply since switching to a PC laptop.
