The Apple CEO wrote on Twitter revealing a curious surprise regarding the iPhone’s hardware.
Currently, Tim Cook is on a business trip to Japan –It’s not the first time he’s visited the country — and he’s visited different Apple-related schools, stores, facilities and research centers.
While in Japan, Tim Cook shares all kinds of news via Twitter Photographs which reflect some of their favorite moments in the Asian country.
In one of these publications, the CEO of Apple wanted reveal one of the greatest secrets related to your hardware iPhoneand he visited the facilities of Japanese mult inational Sony in Kumamoto Prefecture.
iPhone camera sensors were made by Sony
According to Tim Cook, Apple has been associated with Sony for a decade using the Japanese company as a supplier of camera sensors for its iPhone product line.
Over the past decade there have been many rumors circulating in the tech industry that Apple was using Sony hardware. From the Wall Street Journal, they revealed in 2015 that Apple was using camera sensors for its iPhone 6 models, but few media picked up the news.
And Tim Cook’s visit suggests that the Apple-Sony partnership will last a few more years.

Sony is considered the leading multinational company in the camera sensor industry, managing 44% market share in 2021. Samsung follows suit with an 18.5% share…a quantitative difference.
