The Turtle Beach company has been a well-known gear supplier to gamers for many years and continues to stock their shelves with products that say “Designed for Xbox”. While we recently reviewed its Recon Cloud controller, today it’s a controller charging station that will keep us busy. Welcome to the Fuel Dual Charger.
owner’s turn
In a fairly sealed package we discover the beast. The docking station for the controllers takes up most of it, while the headset holder and the batteries are tucked away in a corner. first good surprise if the pack contains two batteriesthere are no fewer than four rear plastic covers. Yes, if the Fuel Dual Charger is compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S controllers
attention, The Fuel Dual Charger is not compatible with the Elite Series 2 controller which has an integrated rechargeable battery.
The helmet mount is universal and will easily fit your helmet, as long as it is made by Turtle Beach or not. The base is perfectly stable and can be placed in close proximity to the charging station or elsewhere. Note that this is just a stand and by no means can charge your headphones.
So how does it work?
Simply connect the docking station to your console or a power outlet if you have a power adapter (not included) with the included 1m USB-C cable. Then insert the appropriate batteries and back covers according to the controller… and that’s it! The joysticks fit easily on the station and The battery indicator on the front shows you the charge status immediately based on the color of the symbol.
The 1200 mAh batteries are rated for 20 hours of autonomy and take 2.5 hours for a full charge. And since two controllers can be placed on the station, you can play with one while the other charges. Practical !
The station is discreet, rather small, and easily fits on your desk among the goodies or next to your console. Forget the LEDs or other optical artifice, none of that here, the whole thing is sober and universal.
Do we fall in love with Christmas or not?
The Turtle Beach Fuel Dual Charger is sold at the recommended price of 34.99 dollars and therefore includes a charging station, two batteries and a headphone holder. It’s hard not to find the whole thing attractive when you know that Microsoft’s official batteries are priced at well over $20. As usual with these latest models, during my tests with Turtle Beach’s I did not have the slightest problem of autonomy.
With its efficient design, easy use/installation and a very affordable price, Turtle Beach again signs with this Fuel Dual Charger a high-quality accessory that will easily find its place at the foot of the tree. You can find it on the Turtle Beach official website.
