In about a month and a half, the new Company of Heroes 3 should cause a sensation on the PC – but you can already get an idea of the strategy game before the release of the final full version.
Developer Relic Entertainment, together with SEGA, gave the go-ahead for the multiplayer technology test today. This is one last chance to review Company of Heroes 3 before release.
Interested strategy fans can now take part in this technology event on Steam, in which the developers focus on the function of the servers. This in turn should ultimately help to ensure that the servers and infrastructure are already being put through their paces so that they may not collapse when the game officially starts.
The technology test, which has now been activated, is freely accessible via Valve’s PC platform and runs until Monday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. German time. Participants can try eight different multiplayer maps set in Italy and North Africa.
You can also compete in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 matches, play skirmish against the AI and annihilation mode and create your own games. You can also explore and test all four factions and the twelve battlegroups included in Company of Heroes 3 at launch.
For those new to the art, Relic provides the (skippable) tutorial mission Mission Zero. More information about the multiplayer technology test is available in this Blog entry.
Company of Heroes 3 will be released for PC on February 23, 2023; PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will follow at a later date.
