In about a month, the promising Hogwarts Legacy will be released, which has caused a sensation in advance and is currently one of the best-selling games on Steam. The news that a renowned and well-known actor will also be doing the honors in a speaking role should now cause even more anticipation.
In the new Hogwarts Legacy you will soon hear a very prominent voice – at least if you rely on the English voice output. Then you will be able to hear the well-known actor Simon Pegg in the role of headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.
The British actor is perhaps best known for his role as Shaun in the 2004 comedy-horror flick Shaun of the Dead. He also starred as Benji Dunn in the action series Mission: Impossible with Tom Cruise when he was younger. And: In the Amazon TV series “The Boys”, also very successful, he embodied Hugh Campbell.
In Hogwarts Legacy, he now takes over the presidency of the well-known magic school Hogwarts, so he has an important role. To coincide with the announcement, a short video featuring Pegg himself was released on the game’s official YouTube channel. The four-minute clip elaborates on the game character, who Pegg says is the most unpopular Headmaster in Hogwarts history.
Die-hard Harry Potter fans will be aware that Phineas Black is also the great-great-grandfather of Sirius Black, the popular character from the Harry Potter books and films. Compared to this Phineas Black is neither noble nor brave, but according to Pegg just a “self-centered fool”.
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game will be released a little later on April 4, 2023 for the last-gen consoles PS4 and Xbox One, and a switch version is scheduled for release on July 25, 2023.
