The Division 2 is finally coming to Steam. After almost four years, the loot shooter also arrives on Valve’s distribution platform, with a 70 percent discount that puts the standard version at a price tag of 9 dollars.
However, there are no cheers from Steam players: From around 300 reviewers so far, only 61 percent rate The Division 2 positively, which leads to a balanced
recommendation status. The reasons for the many negative ratings are mainly found in the technical area.

What is the criticism?
Above all, players criticize the technology of The Division 2. Apparently, many users are struggling with crashes and incorrect game starts. Some also criticize the connection of Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft’s in-house launcher.
However, this practice is common with Steam releases from major publishers, who then also install a more compact version of their own client. In any case, the separate DRM does not meet with much approval from gamers.
However, most of the negative reviewers refer to crashes that Ubisoft should work on as soon as possible. One or the other user also complains about the lack of compatibility with the Steam Deck.
What’s in the Steam release?
The Steam version has the same content as the other versions on Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Store. The standard edition for currently 9 dollars only contains the basic game. The edition with the extension Warlords of New York costs 18 dollars in the basic version and 24 dollars in the Ultimate Edition.
In the video we show you what the big New York add-on delivers and whether it can keep up with the popular location of the predecessor:
