For this first movie, we just reviewed the 1991 game and focused on where it all started and kept it simple. Just try to capture Sonic and Robotnik and establish their rivalry because it is not that … I mean, I love it … There are many great characters in the Sonic universe, but the most important thing is to capture Sonic faithfully and just tell a little the origin story with him, and just do it in a way that really makes everyone fall in love with him as a character and yearn for more. And then, if all goes well, we can open more and bring some of these other characters that fans know and love. And yes, I mean, nobody is more excited than me to have that opportunity.
