Since Exekiller was revealed in autumn 2021, the extremely ambitious mix of open world shooter and cyberpunk role-playing game has been largely silent.
Now Paradark’s small indie studio is showing new ones Screenshots on Twitter and Discord, which upon closer inspection is bursting with detail (and vibe). Check out the new pictures here:

What do you notice directly in the pictures?
- The screenshots finally show the correct ingame graphics of the game. The Unreal Engine 5 is used here and scores directly with a very atmospheric lighting mood and a high level of detail.
- Is striking the absence of any HUD elements and that is also the intention of the developers: they want to build in as little interface as possible, they say. For example, the display on the turret serves as an immersive ammunition display.
- Die strange opponent in the gas station picture they look conspicuously artificial and are actually not people at all: These are Winstons, so-called “Superior Robotic Assistants”, who were actually developed as helpers for people and have apparently gotten out of control.
- Our protagonist has apparently himself a cyborg arm, as can be seen in the pictures on the left. In Exekiller we will be able to buy new skills in the form of software upgrades and use them to improve our character.
- That the design generally one strong retro flair is no coincidence: Similar to Blade Runner or Fallout, Exekiller is set in an alternative timeline in which technological advances exceeded our current possibilities in the 1960s, before the apocalypse heralded the end of time.
What else do we know about ex-killers?
Since pictures (and especially videos) are known to say more than a thousand words, you can get a first impression of the setting and the idea behind the game in the concept trailer for Exekiller:
