New Super Mario Bros. Movie Trailer Shows Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong

The long-awaited Super Mario Bros. movie is coming out this year, so of course, Illumination is preparing us a trailer to make us even more excited.

The final trailer for the movie begins with a fistfight between Mario himself and Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong, played by Seth Rogan, doesn’t speak in this trailer, though, instead focusing on beating our favorite plumber to a pulp.

In Illumination’s latest trailer, we get a closer look at the battle. The thirty-second clip shows Mario punching boxes, gaining cat abilities. Donkey Kong lost it when confronted by Mario in a cat-like costume.

As a result, Seth Rogan’s signature infectious laugh is heard. Without watching the trailer, you wouldn’t even suspect that Donkey Kong was involved; that said, after hearing Seth Rogen threaten Mario the Cat to play Donkey Kong, I can’t imagine anyone else playing the lovable but evil cat. gorilla.

Seth Rogen will voice Donkey Kong, Chris Pratt will play Mario, Charlie Day will play Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy will play Princess Peach, and Jack Black will play Bowser. While Chris Pratt’s Mario voice is eerily different from his normal voice, the rest of the cast sounded good.

The Super Mario Bros. movie is expected to hit theaters on April 7, 2023.
