The popular gaming channel Rocket Beans is going on short-time work for the time being. This was announced by Managing Director Arno Heinisch on February 2, 2023 in a blog post at. The reason for this is the energy crisis and the resulting tense economic situation. This means reduced advertising budgets and fewer orders. Heinisch explained in the post:
As many of you know, our RBTV content is not funded by any single revenue stream. Both RBSC posts [anm. d. Redaktion: Damit ist der Rocket Beans Supporters Club gemeint. Hier können Fans den Kanal mit einer kleinen Spende monatlich unterstützen und erhalten Benefits in Form von Forenabzeichen oder Rabatte auf den Merch-Shop], YouTube income and merch sales as well as sponsorships help to ensure that a format is counter-financed. In addition, we also invest profits from service productions to cross-finance RBTV content. In times like the current one, this way of financing doesn’t get any easier.

Ready in November 2022 Rocket Beans and the influencer agency Freaks 4U had to cancel the Gamevasion event at Dreamhack in Hanover due to the economic situation.
What does this mean for the content of the channel?
Due to the reduced working hours, not all content can be continued in the usual rhythm for the time being. This means that there will be no Saturday events in February. In addition, the BEEF Jr. format, in which 4 players compete against each other in a gaming duel, will initially only be published every two weeks instead of weekly. The next episode of the format will appear on February 12, 2023.
Short-time work initially planned for three months
Rocket Beans employees have been on short-time work since February 1st, 2023. Specifically, they reduce their working hours to 70 percent for three months at the moment. Excluded from this regulation are individual employees who are involved in commissioned productions such as Game Two.
We are confident that our economic situation will ease in the course of the spring and that we will again be able to implement complex shows and larger events together with and with the support of cooperation partners.

In order to be better positioned in future economically difficult times, Rocket Beans wants to their RBSC model set and push this further:
At this point it is important to once again say a huge thank you to all members of the RBSC who contribute with their monthly support to enable us to produce content.
Since we generate relatively reliable income with the RBSC, we would like to try to make the membership even more attractive in the long term and will therefore experiment with further RBSC features in the coming weeks and months. We will let you know as soon as the plans are ready.

RBSC stands for Rocket Beans Supporters Club – a subscription model comparable to GameStar Pluswith which you enable the Rocketbeans team to become less dependent on advertising revenue by making a monthly monetary contribution.
In general, short-time work is an instrument created by the Federal Employment Agency to temporary absences from work to avoid layoffs. A “classic” area of application is the automotive industry, where problems with the supply chain can quickly lead to production downtime. So it doesn’t have to mean that a company is on the verge of bankruptcy.
We wish our colleagues from Rocket Beans all the best for the future and look forward to competing again soon like last time in house to house to compete against each other.
Additionally, we would like to ask our community to refrain from any malicious or meant to be funny
refrain from joking. Anyone who thinks they have to behave disrespectfully towards colleagues in our comments will be excluded with immediate effect. Please remain friendly and respectful.
