Sons of the Forest, the long-awaited sequel to the survival horror game The Forest, is finally out on February 23rd. The developers Endnight Games decided to release it in Early Access instead of postponing the game again. You can find out more about this here:

Her goal is to involve the community more closely in the development of the game. If you also want to have early access to the game, then your PC should have the necessary requirements – which fortunately are quite humane.
The system requirements at a glance
In times of unoptimized PC games and horrendous system requirements, the requirements for Sons of the Forest are pretty low and even players on older systems should be able to “enjoy” the horror survival game.

The only requirement that might pose some problem for some players on older systems are the 12 Gigabyte RAMwhich are required as a minimum.
According to the Steam poll from January 2023, around a fifth of all players still only have 8.0 gigabytes of RAM installed. Luckily, a memory upgrade is very cheap and possible even on most laptops.

Endnight Games also recommends using an SSD, but the game should still run well on a mechanical hard drive. But you would have to accept longer loading times. Luckily, upgrading to an SSD is just as easy and very cheap. This should allow most players to play Sons of the Forest.

The sequel to the hugely successful The Forest adds new items, mechanics, gameplay features and more. Even the first game was very extensive and complex, so it will be interesting to see what Endnight Games has come up with for the second game.
How long the Early Access period should be has not yet been clarified. The first game was released in 2018 after being in Early Access for four years.
