Nintendo presented the fourth DLC of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at this week’s Direct conference and confirmed that it won’t be too long in coming. Although no specific release date was given, it was communicated that it will be in spring 2023.
The additional content will therefore be called “Yoshi’s Island” and will, among other things, bring a completely new course with the same name. In addition, Birdo, originally known from Mario Kart: Double Dash for GameCube, will also be added to the switch fun racer. She is the first new character in the Booster Course Pass.
Wave 4 will also receive seven additional previously unannounced courses. Other returning characters from the Mario Kart series are also planned in future DLC packs.
Previously, Waves 1 through 3 featured classic tracks from the long-running franchise from the Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and Mario Kart Tour eras. Among other things, there are the routes Coconut Mall (Wii), Choco Mountain (N64), Waluigi Pinball (DS), Peach Gardens (DS), Merry Mounatin, Mushroom Gorge (Wii), Maple Treeway (Wii), Rock Rock Mountain (3DS) and the Sky-High Sundae, Ninja Hideaway, New York Minute, and Tokyo Blur courses from Mario Kart Tour.
