In an interview with IGN, Stig Asmussen told the outlet that if the upcoming game does well, we might see the third and final entry in the saga.
“We’re already talking about a second race (2019),” Asmussen said. “I mean, frankly, we’re talking beyond. These conversations are, when we break down this story with Lucasfilm, it’s like: ‘Okay, where are we going for the second game? ‘”
The development team says he’s been “wanting to think of this as a trilogy” and already has ideas of where to take Cal and the crew. The studio may even switch development of a third entry from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5.
Originally scheduled for release on March 17 of this year, Respawn Entertainment delayed the game by six weeks to “meet Respawn’s quality standards.” The game is now scheduled for release on April 28th.
