The second season's cast of The Witcher on Netflix has recently been largely announced, but one role was initially silent: Vesemir. It was precisely around that that there had been the greatest speculation, after all, there was also a cast with Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill.

Now, however, Netflix has done nails with heads and also officially cast the role of Vesemir in Season 2. Star Wars and Mark Hamill fans will be disappointed, however, because contrary to the numerous speculations in advance, it has not become Luke Skywalker's actor who will embody Geralt von Riva's mentor in the hit Netflix series.
Via Twitter the streaming service confirms that Kim Bodnia will take on the role of Vesemir instead. The Danish actor, who has also worked as a writer and director, is best known for his role as Detective Martin Rohde in the Scandinavian hit series "The Bridge".

It is not known whether Mark Hamill rejected a supposed offer from Netflix for the Vesemir role or whether, according to rumors of the past few weeks, this offer did not even exist.
Bodnia will appear in The Witcher's Season 2 on Netflix alongside Yasen Atour ("Ben-Hur"), Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion ("Peaky Blinders"), Kristofer Hivju ("Games of Thrones") and other new protagonists. The main characters of the first season naturally return. Season 2 is scheduled to air in the coming year 2021.
