You may recall that Nintendo officially announced a week ago that the fourth wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will be released on March 8th. Of course, when a new wave of DLC comes out, it usually coincides with an update to the base game.
Well, as promised, Nintendo has released the 4th wave of the Booster Course Pass. The new content also comes with an update to the base game, bringing the game to version 2.3.0. Most of the updates, according to the patch notes, focus on bug fixes and some gameplay tweaks. You can see the full patch notes below.
DLC support
- Now supports paid DLC: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Extra Course PassWave 4 (two cups, eight dishes and one character, Birdo).
In general
- Improved performance of some characters and vehicle customizations.
- It is made so that the player can see the rear view mirror when spinning, crashing or changing into Bullet Bill.
- Made so, if a player uses a Super Star or Boo at the same time as being hit by Lightning, their kart will not collapse or become small.
- He made it so that when you jump from Whompa to Tour Berlin Byways, the cards can jump over the fence.
- Golden Mushroom added to custom items in Renegade Roundup.
- Added “Booster Course Pass” button to the main menu. If the player does not have a Booster Course Pass, a link to the Nintendo eShop will be displayed.
Solved problems
- Fixed an issue where if the player’s go-kart would become small after being hit by lightning, it would slide into the ground.
- Fixed an issue where if a player’s card ran into a wall, Lakitu would transfer it even though they didn’t leave the track.
- Fixed an issue where the player character would not be able to hit an opponent with a red shell while that opponent was jumping on a half-pipe.
- Fixed an issue where the player character could not float after jumping and landing in a half pipe.
- Fixed an issue where the player could use an item other than Boo immediately after using Boo.
- Fixed an issue where the player could not throw a boomerang after catching it and it went into another item slot.
- Fixed an issue where when a player character hits a Blooper in an opponent’s Crazy 8 game, ink would splatter on them even though they are using a Super Star.
- Fixed an issue where the player would stop looking in the rearview mirror, the ink would instantly disappear even though they had Blooper ink on them.
- Fixed an issue where the player would go off track when hit by a red shell at the same time as changing into Bullet Bill.
- Fixed an issue where the Wii Coconut Mall escalator would cause a communication error when the character could not move forward.
- Fixed an issue when changing to Bullet Bill in N64 Dry Dry Desert, where the character would slide into the ground.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the character to get stuck on the bridge pillars just before and after the start line in the Tour London Loop.
- Fixed an issue where on wavy floors in 3DS Rainbow Road, the character could be thrown far off the path.
