Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will be free this weekend, and anyone can try out PvP between March 15-20.
While you won’t be able to try Warzone or the DMZ, they’re plenty of fun in their own right, and you’ll be able to experience the online shooter’s Season 2 Reloaded upd ate, complete with new weapons and maps to play.
Once downloaded, you’ll have access to a set of 6v6 maps, as well as a number of popular game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Hard Point, and One of a Kind. If you have some friends who are also interested, you can also go on raid missions for a nice XP payout.
You also get Ground Warfare, which is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated modes in Modern Warfare 2, capable of offering lengthy push-pull battles between two large teams, devastating vehicular battles on huge maps. It’s a lot of fun and well worth a try.
The Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer mode has super-fast kill times, and there are hordes of players who are very good at learning the ins and outs of the game, so pay attention. You will most likely be wiped out early on. However, if you have a few friends and a casual attitude, this is a great opportunity to try out the game (if you haven’t already).
Call of Duty recently found itself at the center of a vicious tug-of-war between Sony and Microsoft thanks to the industry-shaking Microsoft x Activision Blizzard King takeover. These events have led to several interesting news stories for the franchise, including Microsoft being “confident” that it can optimize Call of Duty for the Switch, and Sony’s belief that StarCraft is an Xbox exclusive, proving why it’s worried about Call of Duty .
