With the Indie Box, the entire XboxSquad editorial team offers you mini reviews of very little known or featured indie games. While some don’t deserve to step out of the shadows of the Xbox Marketplace, others might be worth a look. That is the whole subject of this section.

Space Tail: Every journey leads home is a 2.5D adventure platformer with the main character Béa, a dog from outer space. Sent from Earth, she is “stranded” on a lush planet populated by strange creatures. THE 2 main originalities of this adorable game the senses we must use to get out of mini-puzzles and progress. Béa’s sense of smell, sight and keen hearing are again required to dig up anything and everything or to discover elements in the decor. Second special feature: the communication wheel. Bea can sympathize with extraterrestrial entities by rolling, yelping, or growling. Unfortunately, the tutorial bombards us with all this in a few seconds and personally it put me off: it’s a lot of manipulation for little. So I played for 30 minutes not really knowing if I liked this title or not. It is cute but on me space tail fail to grasp me more than that. Remain a nice little conversation synonymous with homageto welcome that also in the conquest of space, Humanity has called (or sacrificed, it depends) on animals to acquaint themselves with the stars…

I loved :

  • A nice little platformer
  • Interface and subtitles in French

I’m sorry :

  • Too much manipulation for little, we get lost in all these buttons 🙁

Upcoming releases on Xbox Series X|S from March 20-26
