The successor sells better than its predecessor with DLC

DLC, predecessor, sells, Successor

Dragon’s Dogma 2 sells better than its predecessor Dragon’s Dogma and its DLC Dark Arisen combined.

The action role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma 2 thrilled players and the trade press alike when it was released a few weeks ago.

After developer Capcom previously announced that almost 2.5 million games were sold in the first 12 days after release, new information about the sales figures has now emerged.

Analyst Matt Piscatella explained that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was the best-selling AAA game in the USA in March 2024.

For the entire 2024 observation period, the open-world adventure secured third place in the sales charts. Overall, the role-playing game is said to have sold more often than its predecessor and the expansion Dark Arisen combined.

Piscatella goes on to say that the sequel was the 6th most played title on Steam last month. On Xbox consoles, Dragon’s Dogma 2 even became the best-selling game in the US, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 took second place. On Sony’s rival platform, the Capcom title landed in third place, closely followed by Rise of the Ronin.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released on March 22, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
