Bandai Namco Some stats have been released elder ringunsurprisingly, everyone fought a lot of bosses and died a lot of times.

It’s been over a year since we’ve all stepped into The Lands Between, and as it turns out, we’ve all died multiple times, as Bandai Namco shared in celebration of the game’s anniversary. “How much can we die?” you might ask me. “It can’t be that much, can it? Millions?” Wrong. We have collectively died 9 billion times in the past year. Taking this a step further, the global population is currently estimated at just under 8 billion. Essentially, we’ve all died enough that if so many people did die, there would be no one left in the world, and then some.

Some interesting statistics are associated with these 9 billion deaths, especially the causes of death. The lowest is other players at 2%, which is probably not surprising since many people just play it as a single player game. Falling to death is a classic way to die, but only 14% of deaths are from falling, and 15% are from status effects like Crimson Rot or Poison. By far the biggest causes of death are enemies, NPCs, and bosses, with a combined 69% (very good).

The number of BOSS attempts is also very high. Last year, the number of attempts by players reached 5.9 billion. You won’t be surprised that Malenia is the boss with the most boss attempts, totaling 329 million or about 5% of all boss attempts. The second most attempted boss is Margit The Fell Omen, the first major boss most players will likely encounter, and a tough one at that. The Limgrave Tree Sentinel comes in third, and it’s the first mini-boss you’ll face since it’s right where you start the game. In fourth place is Radhagan, the penultimate boss of the game, and Radhaen last.

Other stats include the top five spells cast, most commonly a simple rock sling, and the top five most frequently acquired spells, the top five being Blessings of the Erd Tree. The majority of players who used Summon chose co-op mode, accounting for 88%, and the remaining 12% were in invasion mode.

Last month, FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring would be receiving some DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, but aside from one piece of art, details are being kept under wraps for now.
